Founded in 2023 by former GitHub CTO Jason Warner and Eiso Kant, Poolside builds open-weight foundation models for agentic coding. The company trains its Laguna model family from scratch, with Laguna M.1 trained on 6,144 NVIDIA Hopper GPUs, and focuses on long-horizon software engineering tasks. Laguna S 2.1 (118B MoE, 8B active, 1M context) and Laguna XS 2.1 (33B MoE, 3B active, 256K context) are released under the OpenMDW-1.1 licence.
